Full identity including logo, stickers, postcards and online webshop for Danish vintage retro hobby boutique Husflid.

The logo was designed in 2008, further identity work has followed into 2012.

Husflid means "handicraft" in English which describes the shop's intention: to motivate people of the busy modern world to appreciate and engage in the crafts of the hand.

In the age before TV most people spent the dark winter evenings of the North inside their little cabins working and tinkering together on different projects. The women would be knitting, embroidering, painting or sowing. The men might be crafting a stool, working with wood or reparing tools and clothes.

Today, all people do in the evening is sit in front of the TV and drool. Which is so sad because once you start taking up a personal handicraft project you instantly feel envigorated, excited and best of all: you don't feel like you're wasting yet another evening of your probably very short life watching some reality show from Hell. You're active - you're doing something.

Husflid promotes this feeling of the good old days and at the same time tries to encourage sustainability by recycling as most of the materials you find in the shop are 2nd hand vintage stuff from the 1950's, 60's and 70's.
